KOTA KINABALU. SABAH Nov 8, 2025 – Buoyed by a morning announcement of its candidates, Pakatan Harapan (PH) wasted no time in ramping up its election push, inaugurating the operations room—or “Bilik Gerakan”—for its N.22 Tanjung Aru state seat candidate this afternoon.
Datuk Chan Foong Hin, Member of Parliament for Kota Kinabalu and Deputy Minister of Plantation and Commodities, led the charge alongside his team, describing the swift transition from candidate reveal to launch as a testament to PH’s operational prowess. The event drew an overwhelming turnout of over 250 supporters and local residents, undeterred by the sweltering heat, as chants and cheers filled the air.
“I am deeply moved by the extraordinary reception,” Chan shared in a social media post, capturing the palpable energy. “From scouting the location to full setup, our Tanjung Aru PH team accomplished it all in under a week. This is proof of our efficiency and commitment—fast work, solid results!”
The rapid mobilization highlights PH’s strategy to build grassroots momentum ahead of the anticipated Sabah state election (PRN Sabah), where Tanjung Aru, a vibrant coastal constituency in Kota Kinabalu, remains a battleground for urban voter support. Chan’s post emphasized a core campaign pledge: delivering better governance for residents who “deserve more.” He assured, “With our capable and experienced team, we will give you all the best—trust in that.”
The launch was graced by high-profile DAP figures, including party secretary-general Anthony Loke and Sabah DAP chairman Phoong Jin Zhe, who officiated the proceedings. Chan extended profound gratitude to their presence, rallying the crowd with a call to action: “Together, let’s make Sabah even stronger!”
Capping off the fiery address with his signature slogan—”Kasi Chan, Ada Harapan!” (Chan Delivers, There’s Hope)—the event underscored PH’s blend of enthusiasm and pragmatism. As Sabah’s political scene heats up, this operations room positions Tanjung Aru as a key front in the coalition’s bid to challenge the incumbent Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) on issues like economic equity and community welfare.
With the PRN date looming, today’s gathering signals PH’s intent to turn local fervor into electoral gains, one energized room at a time.
