CYBERJAYA, Malaysia, 28 July 2025 – The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has launched an investigation into a company suspected of selling uncertified communication devices online, following a joint operation with the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) named Op Taring Bravo 3.

A total of 3,837 units of various communication equipment, valued at approximately RM500,000, were confiscated by PDRM and handed over to MCMC for technical analysis and further scrutiny. The seized items include wireless gaming consoles, remote control devices, smart devices, tablets, and other communication gadgets believed to have been marketed without valid technical certification from MCMC.
The investigation is being conducted under Regulation 16 of the Communications and Multimedia (Technical Standards) Regulations 2000, which carries a penalty of up to RM500,000, imprisonment for up to three years, or both, upon conviction.
MCMC remains committed to enforcing actions against the sale and use of uncertified communication devices to ensure consumer safety and maintain market integrity through technical compliance.
