Malaysian PM Anwar Ibrahim Arrives in Paris for Official Visit

PARIS, July 3, 2025 – Malaysian Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim and his delegation arrived in Paris today, kicking off an official visit at the invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron.

Tomorrow, Anwar is scheduled for a one-on-one meeting with President Macron at the Élysée Palace to discuss strengthening the longstanding bilateral ties between Malaysia and France. The talks will explore new avenues for cooperation in key areas, including trade, investment, defense, education, tourism, and people-to-people connections.

The visit also includes a roundtable session with leading French industry figures to expand investment and trade opportunities, as well as a public lecture by the Prime Minister at Sorbonne University.

Anwar expressed optimism that the visit would further solidify the friendship and collaboration between Malaysia and France, fostering mutual benefits and advancing regional and global progress.
