LTDL 2025: DEPUTY IGP FLAGS OFF PRESTIGIOUS GLOBAL RACE IN LANGKAWI

LANGKAWI, Sept 28, 2025 – Deputy Inspector-General of Police, DIG Tan Sri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay, officiated the flag-off ceremony for the prestigious Le Tour de Langkawi (LTdL) 2025 at Jalan Padang Matsirat here yesterday.

Arriving at approximately 7:30 AM, he was welcomed by the Director of the Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT), CP Dato’ Sri Mohd Yusri Hj. Hassan Basri, before jointly attending the flag-off ceremony, officiated by the Deputy Secretary-General (Management) of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Mr. Abdullah Hassan.

A total of 164 personnel, comprising 16 officers and 148 members of the JSPT, led by Senior Superintendent Mohd Yatim Osman, Assistant Director of Traffic Control at JSPT Bukit Aman, were deployed as the frontline team to ensure the safety of the cyclists and the public attending the event.

To ensure the event ran smoothly and safely, the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), through JSPT, mobilized various assets, including 81 high-powered motorcycles of various models, two transport trucks, 16 cars, and seven vans.

A total of 129 cyclists from 22 teams, both local and international, successfully completed the 96.5-kilometer race, which started in Pekan Kuah and circled the entire island of Langkawi, Kedah.

Also in attendance were the Director-General of the National Sports Council of Malaysia, Mr. Jefri Ngadirin, Kedah Police Chief, CP Datuk Adzli Abu Shah, Event Director at the National Sports Council, Mr. Saiful Sahar, LTdL Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Emir Abdul Jalal, and Langkawi District Police Chief, ACP Shariman Ashari.
