KULIM, Malaysia June 28, 2025 – Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail reaffirmed his commitment to addressing the plight of Kedah residents during a visit to two dilapidated homes in Kulim today, underscoring his practice of personally engaging with constituents’ concerns whenever he returns to the state.

“Every time I come back to Kedah, I make it a point to listen directly to the people’s voices and grievances,” Saifuddin said. “Some greet me with handshakes, others hand me letters, and some whisper their hopes. I receive them all with an open heart.”
The minister visited the homes of Puan Zaleha Abdullah in Kampung Keladi and En Azrul Abu Bakar in Kampung Syed Sheh, both of whom had applied for home repair assistance. Saifuddin described the dire conditions he witnessed: one house was almost completely destroyed by a fire, while the other suffered severe damage, including a leaking roof, crumbling walls, a collapsing ceiling, and unsafe living spaces.
“These are not mere paper requests,” he said. “Seeing their homes firsthand, I understand the urgency. This is about restoring a sense of peace to families living in constant hardship.”
Saifuddin pledged to expedite aid for the families, emphasizing that the effort goes beyond repairs to restoring dignity. “God willing, I will do my utmost to ensure help reaches them swiftly,” he said, adding that he would personally ensure the concerns raised today reach the relevant authorities.
He urged the public to pray for smooth facilitation of the process, reaffirming his commitment to amplifying the people’s voices.
