KPDN Backs Digital Kitchen Initiative to Boost Daily Income for Low-Income B40 Households

KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA Oct 5, 2025– The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) has pledged full support for the innovative Dapur Digital program, implemented through the Malaysia Food Bank Programme (PFBM) and Payung RAHMAH, to empower low-income groups—particularly the B40 segment—in generating daily earnings amid escalating living costs.

In a media statement released today, Deputy Minister Datuk Senator Dr. Fuziah Binti Salleh highlighted Dapur Digital as a forward-thinking platform that not only fosters food entrepreneurship but also adds value through community development, income generation, and elevating the economic well-being of local residents.

“Dapur Digital represents an innovative step that provides a platform for food entrepreneurship while adding value in terms of community development, income generation, and improving the economic standards of local communities,” Dr. Fuziah stated.

A prime example is Dapur Digital Seri Perlis II, which offers affordable RAHMAH Menu options to assist underprivileged communities in accessing balanced meals at low prices. Complementing this, PFBM facilitates the redistribution of surplus food produced by manufacturers in the Klang Valley directly to target beneficiaries in the Seri Perlis II public housing area, ensuring efficient waste reduction and aid delivery.

The initiative embodies a “whole of nation” approach, aligning with the core aspirations of Malaysia MADANI by realizing sustainable economic empowerment and serving as a benchmark for local development. This collaborative effort is expected to enhance living standards across all societal layers nationwide.

KPDN reaffirmed its commitment to forging partnerships with key stakeholders to reach more vulnerable groups, thereby improving their quality of life through balanced, knowledge-driven strategies to tackle current cost-of-living pressures.

Dr. Fuziah emphasized, “Initiatives like PFBM, Payung RAHMAH, and Dapur Digital not only help realize the aspirations of Malaysia MADANI but also become benchmarks for accelerating local economic development, ultimately raising the living standards of every societal layer throughout the country.”

The ministry will continue to prioritize such collaborations to ensure broader access to resources and support for those in need.
