Johor Police Bust Two Illegal Drug Labs, Seize RM17.93 Million in Narcotics

JOHOR, Malaysia, September 24, 2025 – The Johor Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department (JSJN) has dismantled a drug syndicate, uncovering two illicit laboratories processing Erimin 5 in the Senai area, announced Johor Police Chief CP Dato’ Hussein Omar Khan during a press conference yesterday.

Key Seizures:
– 4,034.71 kg of various drugs and precursors
– Market value of RM17.77 million, capable of affecting 1.8 million users
– Four vehicles worth RM161,000
– Total value of seizures: RM17.93 million

A local man in his early 40s was arrested, suspected of acting as a transporter, receiving and delivering wooden block parcels to the factories. Three other individuals believed to be the syndicate’s masterminds remain at large. The detained suspect tested negative for drug use and is under a seven-day remand from September 18 to 24, 2025.

The syndicate, active since February 2025, used factories as fronts to process Erimin 5. The case is being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, which carries the death penalty or life imprisonment with caning upon conviction.

Present at the press conference were Johor Police Chief CP Datuk Ab Rahaman bin Arsad, Johor Fire and Rescue Department Director YS PKPjB Siti Rohani binti Nadir, Deputy Director of Narcotics (Intelligence/Operations) DCP Datuk Mat Zani @ Mohd Salahuddin bin Che Ali, Senior Assistant Director of Narcotics (Intelligence/Operations) ACP Mohd Taufik bin Maidin, Assistant Director of Narcotics (International Relations) ACP Hairy bin Ramlan, Johor JSJN Chief ACP Mohamad Alpiyang bin Ali, Kulai District Police Chief ACP Tan Seng Lee, and representatives from Bukit Aman JSJN, Johor JSJN, Kulai IPD, and the Johor Fire and Rescue Department.
