KUALA LUMPUR April 12. 2026 – The aspiration of “Active Community, Progressive Territories” was further strengthened today when the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories), Hannah Yeoh, officiated the launch of the Federal Territories Community Aerobic Exercise Programme 2026 (PSKWP2026) at the Sri Sabah 3B Public Housing Square in Bandar Tun Razak.
The programme, inspired by Hannah Yeoh since she took over the Federal Territories portfolio, is an initiative of the Federal Territories Department through the Federal Territories Sports Council (MSWP). It aims to bring sports and health programmes closer to the people, especially in People’s Housing Projects (PPR) and Public Housing (PA) areas in the capital.
The launch ceremony was also attended by Dato’ Seri Dr. Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, Member of Parliament for Bandar Tun Razak, along with senior officials from relevant agencies including the Mayor of Kuala Lumpur and representatives from Putrajaya Corporation and Labuan Corporation.
PSKWP2026 is designed to cultivate a healthy lifestyle among communities through an inclusive, easy-to-join, and sustainable approach. The programme is conducted free of charge and is open to all levels of society regardless of age or background.
On the launch day, aerobic exercise sessions were held simultaneously at 25 PPR/PA locations in Kuala Lumpur. Over this weekend, the programme will be expanded to a total of 44 locations comprising:
– 33 locations in Kuala Lumpur
– 6 locations in Putrajaya
– 5 locations in Labuan
This makes PSKWP2026 one of the largest-scale community programmes in the Federal Territories. The programme will be implemented weekly throughout the year 2026.
The implementation is supported through strategic cooperation with the Malaysian Fitness Sports Association (MAFA), Residents’ Representative Councils (MPP), Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL), Putrajaya Corporation (PPj), Labuan Corporation (PL), and various other related agencies to ensure comprehensive and high-impact execution.
According to the official statement, the programme is expected to attract consistent participation at every location and has the potential to become a “signature” community programme for the Federal Territories. It not only promotes physical health but is also hoped to reduce daily stress and address obesity issues among urban residents.
In her speech, Hannah Yeoh emphasised the importance of community-based programmes that truly reach the people at the grassroots level.
This initiative aligns with the government’s efforts to build a more progressive Federal Territories focused on the continuous well-being of the people.
