PENANG, MALAYSIA Nov 8, 2025 – Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim today unveiled the Komuniversiti Kolaboratif initiative, a groundbreaking partnership between Universiti Sultan Azlan Shah (USAS) and Yayasan Pelaburan Pendidikan Islam Malaysia (YAPEIM), aimed at immersing students in the pulse of everyday Malaysian life.
Speaking at the launch in Cherok To’kun, Anwar emphasized that true knowledge transcends textbooks and rote learning—it must be anchored in lived experiences, current realities, and active community engagement. “This is an effort to bring students closer to the heartbeat of the people,” he declared, underscoring the program’s role in fostering practical, impactful education.
The initiative adopts an empowerment-driven approach, handing decision-making power back to communities. Villages will identify and prioritize their own economic projects, while corporations and conglomerates adopt schools under the “Sekolah Angkat” program. All stakeholders commit to streamlined, rhetoric-free execution, minimizing waste and maximizing tangible outcomes. “We move simply to realize objectives without fanfare or extravagance,” Anwar explained.
Extending the philosophy to foreign policy, the Prime Minister reaffirmed Malaysia’s stance as a sovereign, dignified nation. “We negotiate and befriend all, but decisions are guided solely by the nation’s and people’s interests,” he stated, highlighting a balanced diplomacy that prioritizes national welfare.
Anwar pledged his commitment to transforming this effort into a grounded platform for knowledge dissemination, character-building, and national advancement. “Insya-Allah, I will ensure it becomes a vehicle for earthy wisdom, sowing virtues and igniting progress for the ummah,” he concluded.
The launch aligns with Anwar’s broader vision of inclusive development, blending education, economics, and diplomacy to empower grassroots communities. As Malaysia navigates global uncertainties, initiatives like Komuniversiti Kolaboratif signal a renewed focus on self-determination and sustainable growth, positioning academia as a catalyst for societal change.
