KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA February 28, 2026 – Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) has issued a strong condemnation of the joint military strikes launched by Israel and the United States against Iran on February 28, describing the actions as violations of international law that threaten to further destabilise the Middle East.
In a press statement released the same day as the strikes – which targeted Iranian military and nuclear facilities amid ongoing indirect nuclear negotiations in Geneva – Amanah President Mohamad Bin Sabu called for an immediate end to all such aggression.
“The National Trust Party (Amanah) firmly condemns the recent actions undertaken by Israel and the United States against Iran. Such acts are inconsistent with international law and risk further destabilising an already fragile regional landscape,” the statement read.
“Any form of aggression that undermines diplomatic norms and humanitarian principles must cease immediately.”
The party expressed particular concern that the attacks took place while diplomatic talks were underway in Geneva, stressing that dialogue should have been prioritised.
Amanah also urged Arab nations to take a firm stand by reassessing and suspending all diplomatic and strategic engagements with Israel in solidarity with Iran and to protect regional stability.
“A unified and principled stance is necessary to prevent further turmoil and to uphold justice and peace in the Middle East,” the statement added.
This latest condemnation from Amanah joins similar strong statements from other Malaysian political parties and leaders, including PAS, Bersatu, and Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, following the US-Israel operation and Iran’s subsequent missile retaliation.
