WASHINGTON D.C March 2, 2026 – The United States has announced the successful destruction of the headquarters of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in Tehran, along with other key command-and-control facilities.
The development was first highlighted in a viral X post by the account @BRICSinfo, which stated: “JUST IN: 🇺🇸🇮🇷 United States says it destroyed IRGC command and control facilities.” The post quickly gained traction as official confirmation emerged from U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM).
In a strongly worded official statement released on X and accompanied by strike video footage, CENTCOM declared:
“The Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) killed more than 1,000 Americans over the past 47 years. Yesterday, a large-scale U.S. strike cut off the head of the snake. America has the most powerful military on earth, and the IRGC no longer has a headquarters.”
The strikes form part of Operation Epic Fury, a large-scale joint U.S.-Israeli military campaign that began on 28 February 2026 at the direction of the U.S. President. Targets have included IRGC command centres, air defence systems, missile and drone launch sites, military airfields, and other strategic assets across Iran.
CENTCOM and Israeli Defence Forces reports confirm that the IRGC’s joint headquarters and Aerospace Forces headquarters in Tehran were among the primary targets hit. Video released by the U.S. military shows precision strikes impacting the compounds.
The IRGC, Iran’s most powerful military and ideological force, has long been designated a foreign terrorist organisation by the United States and has been linked to attacks on U.S. personnel and allies across the Middle East over nearly five decades.
As of early 3 March, Iranian state media has not issued an official response specifically addressing the loss of the Tehran headquarters, though Tehran has vowed retaliation following the wider campaign. Iran has already launched ballistic missiles toward Israeli and U.S. positions in the region.
The operation marks one of the most direct and significant U.S. military actions against core Iranian regime infrastructure in history.
Life News Agency will continue to monitor developments as the situation remains fluid.
