ABU DHABI, UAE March 3. 2026 – The United Arab Emirates Ministry of Foreign Affairs has categorically dismissed what it calls “false and misleading claims” published by Bloomberg concerning the country’s advanced defensive systems, describing the reporting as unfounded and inaccurate.
In an official statement released today, the Ministry stressed that the assertions “misrepresent the UAE’s high level of preparedness, technological sophistication, and operational readiness.” It urged media outlets to exercise responsible journalism and verify information with official sources before publication.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs categorically rejects the false and misleading claims published by Bloomberg regarding the United Arab Emirates’ advanced defensive capabilities,” the statement read.
The UAE emphasised that its air defence architecture is robust and comprehensive.
“The UAE possesses diverse, integrated, and multi-layered air defence systems capable of countering a full spectrum of aerial threats with high efficiency,” it said. These include long-, medium-, and short-range systems that provide “comprehensive protection of the nation’s airspace.”
The Ministry also highlighted the country’s “robust strategic stockpile of munitions,” which ensures sustained interception and response capabilities over extended periods while maintaining full operational readiness to safeguard national security and sovereignty.
Reaffirming its position, the statement concluded: “The UAE’s advanced defence capabilities, institutional readiness, and integrated national security framework remain steadfast and uncompromised. The safety and security of its citizens, residents, and visitors will always remain an absolute priority.”
The statement comes in direct response to a Bloomberg article that questioned aspects of the UAE’s defensive preparedness. The Ministry did not elaborate on the specific claims but made clear that such reporting does not reflect reality.
The UAE has consistently invested in state-of-the-art defence technologies and maintains one of the most sophisticated multi-layered air defence networks in the region, developed through strategic partnerships and domestic expertise.
