SHAH ALAM, SELANGOR February 7, 2026 – Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz, Chairman of the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA), made his debut appearance at the Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Selangor State Convention yesterday, emphasizing the importance of political stability and continuing the current unity government beyond the next general election.
In a social media post on X, Tengku Zafrul described the event as his first PKR Selangor convention, highlighting discussions centred on preparations for the upcoming polls and confidence in the achievements of the Madani government.
“The focus of the discussion is preparations facing the upcoming election, based on confidence in the achievements we have built together,” he wrote.
He stressed that the current administration, led by Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, is building on existing foundations to elevate Malaysia through high-paying job opportunities, fairer income distribution, and a technology-driven economy.
“All this requires time, stability, and consistent leadership,” Tengku Zafrul added. “This government needs to be maintained for the next term so that the plans can be fully implemented, without stopping midway.”
Expressing full commitment, he said: “I am committed to helping the party and the Prime Minister convince the people that Malaysia is on the right track – and we must continue this journey.”
The convention underscores ongoing efforts within the unity government coalition to strengthen coordination ahead of the next general election, expected within the coming years.
