NADI MCMC Wins Best Service Award at MADANI Rakyat Programme Melaka 2025

MALACCA, MALAYSIA Oct 20, 2025  – The National Information Dissemination Centre (NADI), an initiative under the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), has once again highlighted its commitment to reaching out to the people by winning the Best Service Award at the MADANI Rakyat Programme (PMR) Melaka 2025. The event was officiated by the Prime Minister, Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, and serves as proof of NADI’s effectiveness in empowering digital communities across the country.

The PMR 2025 series, which began in Tawau, Sabah, has expanded to eight other locations, with each edition offering different activities to attract various segments of society. At the NADI booth, visitors can enjoy modern attractions such as drone exhibitions, virtual reality (VR) experiences, robotics and STEM activities through the Tiny Techies module, as well as heart health screenings based on artificial intelligence (AI) technology. These activities are designed to introduce the latest technology in an easily understandable way, enabling local communities to participate in the digital stream.

Youth groups, in particular, showed great enthusiasm in participating through the Safe Internet Campaign (KIS) and the NADI MADANI e-Sports competition, including Mobile Legends and e-Football. Meanwhile, NADI Smart Services stood out with five main focuses: Entrepreneurship, Lifelong Learning, Self-Wellbeing, Awareness, and Government Initiatives. These focuses aim to help society enhance digital skills and the economy, in line with national goals to bridge the digital divide.

Throughout this year’s PMR series, NADI successfully attracted more than 10,000 new members to register, while more than 15,000 visitors participated in interactive activities and exhibitions across the country. “This success proves the warm reception from the people towards MCMC’s continuous efforts through NADI in empowering communities with digital skills, technology access, and information,” emphasized an MCMC source.

The prestigious award was presented by the Director of the Strategic Programme Section, Performance Leap Coordination Unit (PACU), Prime Minister’s Department, Encik Mohd Zainuddin Mohd Noor, to the Head of NADI MCMC Office, Encik Mohd Arif Adenan. Even more proudly, the NADI initiative was also recognized at the international level when it won the Capacity Building category at the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Prizes 2025 in Geneva last July. This recognition highlights the success of the community information centre in Pulau Banggi, Sabah, which has successfully empowered rural residents to not be left behind in the digital era.

Currently, there are 1,099 NADI centres throughout the country with membership exceeding 1.8 million people. This initiative aligns with the aspiration of “1 DUN 1 NADI”, which aims to expand information reach and empower digital communities in every area in Malaysia.
