BUDI95 Implementation Begins September 30, 2025: Minister Urges Calm and Preparation

PUTRAJAYA, Malaysia, Sept 23, 2025– Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail has called on Malaysians to remain calm as the targeted subsidy program, BUDI95, kicks off on Tuesday, September 30, 2025. In a public statement, the minister clarified that the start date marks the beginning of the initiative, with the subsidized RON95 fuel price set to stabilize at RM1.99 per liter for subsequent days.

Addressing concerns about potential rushes at fuel stations, Saifuddin emphasized that there is no need for panic buying, as the subsidized price will remain consistent. “We urge the public to prepare ahead of the implementation date,” he said, advising citizens to replace damaged MyKad chips to ensure smooth verification of BUDI95 eligibility at fuel pumps.

To address potential system disruptions, the minister assured that manual counters will be available. Citizens encountering issues can simply provide their identification number, allowing for automatic eligibility checks. These measures, he added, are designed to ensure a seamless rollout and prevent disruptions at petrol stations across the country.

The BUDI95 program, part of the Madani government’s targeted subsidy framework, requires a valid MyKad and driving license for automatic eligibility. The ministry is encouraging the public to verify their documentation in advance to avoid last-minute inconveniences.
